Fondue evening 19 July 2008

The Fondue evening which was organised and run by the Swiss Choir, thank you very much, was a great success.
See below for some impressions.

Wacky Wine Festival Robertson

The Swiss Male Choir was a guest of the wine farm Major Hill and they entertain the visitors from a far because once a year the Robertson Region is celebrating a wine festival on most of the wine farms , the atmosphere was great so the Swiss food which had been organized by the son of the Mimosa Lodge , the weather was not so great because it was raining but this did not dampen the spirit of the people who visit the wine farm , the owner and his staff Dewalt Louw was very accommodating to make our stay a happy one and everybody had a great time sampling some great wines . Roberto Stöckli joined the Swiss Male Choir with his Zieharmonica to the delight of the male choir and Kurt Brunner did his bit as well

Mother's Day 11 May

It was time for that special day in May to remember and pay tribute to Mothers all over the world. And in time-honoured Swiss club tradition, mothers were invited to come and enjoy a special lunch laid on by the Swiss Club.
This year it was Swiss fare all the way with a warm comfortable raclette. It was the perfect menu item for what turned out to a lovely cold grey day. There were about forty guests who came to enjoy the Sunday meal. People were asked to bring their own raclette ovens and everything was laid out for a lovely communal meal. Not only were they enjoying the delicious cheese dish but there was also some sausages and steaks to fry to add to the gourmet event. It turned out to be a slow meal with people really taking time to enjoy the delicious feast.
